Bordetella pertussis is the pathogen causing whooping cough, a worldwide spread infectious disease that is transmitted from person to person by droplet infection. The test systems are used for the detection of acute and recent infections of Bordetella pertussis and for epidemiological studies. The IgG-ELISA is also used for vaccination control.
